While our camp is still about 2 months away, you should start preparations now in the following areas:
| 1) | Cooking.
Ensure you have a set of mess tins (get from OutPost or any shops that sell camping equipment). The cooking test would be on 18th of April. You are expected to be able to do the following: You are strongly advised to start practice cooking (b and c) in your mess tin at home (hint: over small fire!) 😉 |
| 2) | Flag Semaphores, International Phonetics and Morse Code.
Download, print and familiarise yourselves with this guide. You would be allowed to refer to the guide above BUT you really should get some practice as it is NOT as easy as it looks; especially when you have to transmit and decode words. Also, bonus points would be given if you can do the challenges at the camp without referring to the guide. 🙂 |
