Hi Recruits, your cooking test will be conducted as follows:
Date: 16th September 2023
Time: 3.30-4.45pm
Location: Basketball Court
Utensils:
- Mess tin
- Fork, spoon, spatula, knife etc (Anything that is needed to prepare)
- 2 solid fuels and 1 hex stove will be provided.
- Additional solid fuel will be given but with a pay 🙂
1 solid fuel = minus 0.5 marks
Total Marks: 10 marks
Marks will be included in overall target badge
Rules:
- NO meats/food that needs to be refrigerated allowed as we will not be providing a refrigerator.
- NO pre-cooked/pre-prepped food allowed, all of the food has to be done on the spot.
- ie, cooking rice, chopping and washing vegetables.
- NO canned food allowed
- A minimum of 1 vegetable should be seen in your fried rice.
- Garlic and Onions are not counted as vegetables.
- Each plate of fried rice should be served with a sunny side up egg.
- Egg white and yolk should be clearly visible and unmixed
- NO instant rice allowed
- Only mess tins are permitted for use. Pots and pans are not allowed.
- You can use seasoning to enhance the flavour of your fried rice. However, do keep in mind that the quality of taste will impact your overall score.

Note: Time management is important! Plan your time wisely and take this into account when preparing, cooking, cleaning etc.
